Santorum steps down as the Republican nomination becomes clearer.

By: Jocelyn Arends

On Tuesday April 10, Rick Santorum, a Republican nomination candidate stepped down from his campaign for President. Santorum was right behind front runner Mitt Romney but with Romney’s much wealthier campaign and constant victories, Santorum just could not match up. Some say that Santorum not only stepped down from his campaign do to Romney’s wins but also because of the toll the campaign has spent on his family, especially his special needs daughter. Others say since Santorum did not necessarily quit but rather suspended his campaign, that he could swoop in later this summer but the odds of that happening are slim. Political analysts believe that though Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul are still in the Republican race for President, it is clear that Romeny will represent the Republican party at the polls this November. President Barack Obama seems calm and ready for this election and is ready to take what Romney and his campaign has to offer. No matter what, your vote matters, so if you can vote head to the polls this November and select your vote for President. You never know how much one vote can count to our country.
