secret santa

In Brooklyn there is a secret santa running around and giving kids gifts that there houses were flooded and there parents were not able to a ford gifts for there kids. he has a list of kids but the odd thing is that there are no kids on the naughty list they are on the nice list. I think that this is a great thing that he is doing and that the toys for tots program should start a team of secret santas because the this is only one guy doing all thing and he doesn't have very long left.

Florida Shooting

A Florida man is accused for the shooting of a Florida teen, due to his music being played to loud. The man and teen were having an argument about the teen playing the music in his car too loudly.  It was said that the teen parked next to where the man was sitting, the teen had three of his friends in the car with him, the man started complaining and the two got into an argument that led to the shooting and the death of the teen.

To be honest this is ridiculous a 46-year old man got into an argument with a 17-year old and it led to the man killing the teen. Why cant people just be reasonable and not let this kind of stuff bother them because i can almost guarantee that this man was blaring his music in front of an older man but it never led to this, so why did he have to do it. To me this is just unreasonable and very stupid.

Transgender plays woman's basketball

Gabrielle Ludwig is a 6 foot-6, 220 pound, transsexual basketball player for Mission College in Santa Clara, CA. She is now 50 years old and playing college basketball. All throughout high school, she was Robert John Ludwig. She played high school basketball on the boys’ team. But now she is a girl and has been taking female hormones that make her lose muscle, height, weight, and act more like a woman. All of her teammates at Mission College support her 100%, even after the bashing she got from the ESPN anchors, calling her an “it”. The law has changed to state that if you have been taking hormones for over a year you can play. Ludwig has been taking them since 2007. Some say that even though she is a woman now, she was a man and should not be allowed to play women’s basketball.

Chinese Knife Attack

In Central China twenty two children were wounded in a knife attack Friday. It took place at the entrance of Chengpeng Village Primary School in Henan Province. An adult was also wounded, while several children are in critical care. Police have detained a suspect, who is a 36 year old man from the village. The reason he did this was because he was mentally ill.

If someone is mentally ill they need to be watched at all times so things like this isn't happening. It is sick that this happens around schools, and to literally take a knife, walk into a school, and stabbing innocent people.

Illegal Dumping in California

A California judge is ordering that Walgreens pay almost 17 million dollars for dumping hazardous waste illegally. The lawsuit was filed in early June of 2012 and is just now going to be put into order. It was said that they were throwing pesticides, bleach, paint, pharmaceutical waste, and other chemicals, they were also accused of throwing away customer records and other confidential medical records.

In my opinion i think that if they would have just payed the money to take care of the waste it would have been much more cost effective and would not have ended in the loss of so much money at one time and a tarnished reputation. If things would be taken care of properly this kind of stuff would not happen and people would not have to worry about pollution.

Jacob Roberts picture on Facebook

A creepy picture of the Oregon shopping mall gunman was posted on Facebook. Jacob Roberts, 22, shot and killed 2 people in the mall and then himself. It is horrible what the man did to those people and himself. These events occur much more than they should and needs to be stopped.

The young lady scrounged for food for herself and her mother growing up, then one day a chess coach stumbled upon the future prodigy and protagonist of a Disney movie. It is great that the young girl has been discovered for her chess playing. Now she has money to buy herself and her mother food and also has something to live for. Hopefully she will do good in the future and continue playing chess.

Nurse found dead after prank call

The nurse(Jacintha Saldanha) that was pranked after Kate Middleton’s hospitalization, was found dead a few blocks away from the hospital. Police say it was a suicide, but they are looking farther into it.
I think that it was a terrible thing that the two radio DJs did. I am also sorry to hear that Jacintha died.

Chick Bank Robber

A 19 year old girl named Hannah Sabata was showing off her money and holding a sign saying "I robbed a bank"  on youtube and that she stole a car. The bank was robbed in Neko Nebraska, she did not have a gun on her, but she said she did. Under her caption was "Chick Bank Robber" Police showed up at her doorstep after the Chief son found it on youtube while looking up GreenDay songs, because she was playing the band GreenDay as she was holding up these signs. They showed up at Hannah's house and arrested her. On youtube she had pictures of what she needed to buy with the 6,256 dollars. Her ex husband was the one who knew who she was from the bank photo which then led to the youtube thing. She claims that the government stole her baby, she needed the money to get it back. She also told her mother that it was the best day of her life, her mother just thought she met a new boy. Trial has not been done yet. She is now being called America's Idiot.

I think this is the worst thing you could possibly do if you did something illegal enough to go to jail for quite some time. Why would you put yourself on the internet for anyone to find and show everything that you did wrong that day?? There is no way you can get away with that no matter what. You're pretty much just asking for a lot of attention and asking to get caught.

West Virginia coal mine accident

Three men working at a coal mine in West Virginia, slid into a slurry pond, which is a waste pit. Two of the men that slid into the pit were driving pick up trucks, made it out alive. While the other man, the was driving the bull dozer is still missing. Officials say that slurry ponds must be up to code and be inspected every month. But there was a failure somewhere and the family of the missing man is blaming the owner of the mine. While the mine owners say that the inspector is at fault, because they believe the inspector was careless. I personally believe it might be both of their faults.

Legalized Gay Marriage in 9 states

Nine states in the U.S. have legalized same-sex marriage, but now it is going to the supreme court to decide whether or not there should be gay marriage allowed at all. The nine states and all the supporters of gay marriage believe that you shouldn’t be able to tell people who they can and cannot marry. People against same-sex marriage believe that it shouldn’t change and should ban gay marriage. I personally believe you shouldn’t tell people who they can and cannot marry.

The doctors of California's medical center for cannabis  is using a study to try and treat a 7 year old girl named Mykayla Comstock. This little girl has a type of caner called lymphoblastic leukemia. They are giving it to her not only to treat it but also to help with the pain she might have. The parents have a problem with it. They think that it might not be good for her because she is so young.  I think that it might not matter if it takes away the pain and she doesn't have to suffer for the rest of her life.

Powerball Winners from Missouri

Cindy Hill won the Powerball jackpot of $587.5 million. She is a native of Missouri and bought her ticket at a small gas station around 4:45 p.m. in Dearborn, Missouri. Cindy and her husband have three grown sons, Jason, Cody, and Jarod, and one adopted 6-year-old daughter, Jaiden.
It is great that a middle-class family won all that money, especially having already raised three boys. Also, the couple has a 6-year-old daughter for whom the Hills' will need the money.

          George H.W. Bush Hospitalized

Former president George H.W. Bush was hospitalized for having troubles with bronchitis this past month. He is being hospitalized in Methodist Hospital in Texas Medical Center. He has been going through a struggle with bronchitis for the past few weeks and the bronchitis could be leading to pneumonia, but he is in a stable condition.

The former president is an a stable condition and there is no real need to be worried for his health at this time. The doctors say that he should be okay after treatment, but if his condition worsens he may have to be hospitalized longer.

Vehicle Theft leads to two men arrested

Ethan Thorngren who is 21, and his 18 year old buddy Joshua Bendickson were stopped in a vehicle on North Madison, 15th street while intoxicated and that's when they police found out that the vehicle had been stolen from the impound. Thorngren was the driver of the vehicle, but they said they both were apart of stealing it. Thorngren was charged with a second offense operating while intoxicated, second degree theft, and third degree burglary. Joshua Bendickson was charged with minor consumption, second degree theft, and joint criminal conduct.

I think people think differently when they are intoxicated. They're iq level has been dropped and they think they are ivincible. I'm honestly glad that they got caught. I think that the charges were good because whoever thought they could get away with something like that should be caught.

These tools are mainly for automotive work but can be used for many other jobs such as, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and painting. They can also be purchased on-line and mail in order. They also have snap-on tools at some local tool fairs and advertise their tools frequently.

Website review

Wal-Mart

Right away when you get on to the website they show you large colorful pictures of products that they have for sale and other items that match with the seasons. They clearly show different departments of the store and everything that that certain department entails. Also they have a search bar on the top so that you can find exactly what you are looking for, and above that they have values of the day, local ads, a store finder, registries for babies, weddings, and a wish list, and they also have different gift cards that you can order. They also have a sign in so that customers can buy things on-line and see what they have purchased.

The main focus of the sight is to show on-line customers what they have for sale and advertise it so that it is appealing to the customer. They also have printable local ads and flyers so that the in store buyer can see all of the great sales that Wal-Mart has going on at the time.

The site matches the content very well, the site is just advertising and allowing for you to purchase things on-line or go into the store in your area and purchase the item that you are looking for. So in this aspect the site is doing very well at what it was intended to do, which is to advertise item that the stores sell.

There really isn't really a writing style to the website it's more of just an advertising, but the layout for the website is great and it really shows people what the store has to offer to the consumer.

The grammar in the descriptions for the product are very well, and for the most part everything is well written and easy to read.

The site is very effective for its purpose in its message which we have already discussed multiple times which is advertising.

The audience for this website is mainly people who are able to purchase items on the website and in the store. Many children also get on this website so that they can tell their parents what they want for christmas, their birthday, or just whatever they want to

There are many different audiences ranging from, children, teens, adults, and senior citizens. Children tend to look at toys and books and different things of that nature that they are interested in and that is fun for them to play with. Teens may look for electronic devices such as, tvs, gaming systems, phones, mp3s, and apple accessories, they also may be looking for gifts for a boyfriend/girlfriend, or some new clothing that is offered by the store. Adults are often looking for gifts for family, clothing, cookware, and other needs or wants that they have during the day. Senior citizens often look for gifts for their children and their grandchildren, and also anniversary gifts for their spouse, along with groceries and other needs that they acquire.

Credit Card Debt

Many more people have been using their credit cards racking up more debt than the previous year by not paying off their bills on time. The average debt is about 4.9% higher than it was last year at 4,996 dollars. the number of people using their credit cards has gone up over last year and their payments have fallen by the wayside and bills have gone unpaid.

In my own opinion, I think that credit cards can be great if properly used and maintained but if they are not paid off then eventually you will get into trouble with debt and eventually lose everything you have. The best ways to use a credit card are in emergencies, large buys, and only buing item that you know you can pay off.

Texas train accident

In Midland, Texas, what started out as a parade for a great cause, ended in a tragedy.  The city of Midland was holding a parade for all of the veterans and their spouses. While the parade was at a stand still, one of the semi’s trailer was stopped on the railroad, and a train was coming down the tracks with its’ horn blaring, but the semi couldn’t move due to everybody else in front of him. Four people died and 17 were injured.
How do you not see or hear a train coming down the tracks? I don’t know what to think about it.

RI men plead guilty to cheating the terminally ill
Two men accused of stealing the identities of terminally ill people to reap $30 million from insurance companies and brokerage houses pleaded guilty Monday, several days into their trial, and face prison sentences of up to 10 years each. i think that it is wrong of them to take advantage of the people that cant even fight back or to even know that some one is making the debt for them and that there kids might have to pay back.
Gaza Cease-Fire

On monday November 19th four top terrorist were killed in an attack of a media center in Gaza. Israel had said that they would not stop rocket attacks until Gaza opened up their borders to maintain weapons in the hands of terrorists. So far 100 people have been killed in rocket attacks in Israel and many more injured and buildings destroyed.

My thoughts on this issue is that it is very unjustified because they are attacking unarmed people and killing and injuring them just so they can get what they want. The leaders of these groups need to come to a quick agreement so that all of these attacks can be stopped.

Wanda Butts Top Ten Hero of 2012

Wanda Butts was chosen as one of the top ten CNN Hero's of 2012. Her african american son drowned at the age of 16, it was a devastating time period for her, instead of giving up and breaking down, she decided to start safety and security for swimming pools and teaching other kids how to swim. She would like to raise awareness of her mission to make sure parents know how to educate and make swimming safe for their kids. The important key to what she is doing is to drop drowning statistics. She's trying to make lakes and unsupervised swimming prohibited. She wants swimming to be taught more in schools, to have it about 2 classes a week.
Fun Fact: According to the Centers for  Disease Control and Prevention, African American children between the ages of 5 an 14 drown at the rate of almost three times higher than white children at the same age.

I think it's good what she's doing since the tragic episode with her son. She needs to get out there and not sit around and mope. Swimming is a big part of people's lives and I do agree that it should be taught in schools and places for free. I do not agree with her trying to make unsupervised swimming, as in lakes and rivers, prohibited. That is unfair. People should be able to swim in their own rivers in their back yard without getting in trouble for it. We have lakes and things around so people don't have to go to public pools.

Hostess Brands, headquarters located in Irving, Texas plans on closing their doors today, November 16, 2012. Hostess is blaming their bankruptcy on a strike by bakers because of a new contract imposed on them. Because of Hostess closing 33 bakeries and 565 distribution centers, nearly 18,500 workers will lose their jobs. CEO of the company, Gregory Rayburn says Hostess cannot overcome a nationwide strike. However, the company plans to sell to the highest bidder, so Hostess products may still be distributed.
Hostess has a history of making delicious treats for the American people to enjoy and it is certainly sad to see it's doors close. Most people will miss what Hostess Brands had to offer, I know I will.

Movie- High School

I just saw this movie about a week ago with my boyfriend, and I would have to say it's a stupid comedy movie. I did laugh, but I also couldn't believe that I was actually watching it. It's more of a guy type of movie, and a stoner or ex-stoner movie. They can relate more with the feelings.
This movie takes place in a medium sized town high school. The day before Matt Bush, who plays Henry Burke is about to be elected valedictorian he takes a hit of chronic for the first time in his life. His principal, Micheal Chiklis, decided to make the whole school, including faculty to take a drug test, whoever doesn't pass this test is immediately expelled. Henry can either take the test tomorrow and lose his scholarship and everything he had going for him, or he can team up with Sean Marquette, who plays as his stoner friend, Breaux to do anything to get these drugs out of his system. They decide to steal a high powered ganja, who is a law student that turned into a drug dealer, Psycho Ed, who is played by Adrien Brody, and spike the school's bake sale brownies. They end up getting the whole school and faculty stoned out of their minds. The higher, and higher that everybody is getting, the more Psycho Ed is getting angry at them for stealing his stash of ganja. They must find out a way to give back what they stole, and make sure their whole plan doesn't get destroyed.
The actress and actresses did a good job acting in this movie I thought. It's pretty hard to act stoned out your mind and make your eyes and things look like it. Psycho Ed and his friends were really good with their acting, but I don't think the principal was a very good actor. He looked more like a funny guy than trying to stern and crack down on people with his serious face, but he still had a certain smile to it. Everyone else in the movie, I thought did a pretty good job at acting high. Their cries weren't fake, and the things that it showed they saw, they were really good at imaging that that is really what they saw.
I pretty much liked the whole movie. Every part of it was humorous, but the serious parts of the movie was also good. The time where they were stealing the ganja from the drug dealer, it was my favorite part because it was suppose to be so serious, but it was also pretty funny.
The main purpose of this movie, does not have any morals really to this storyline. There's nothing really to learn from it because they got high, did their plan, paid the money back, and everything turned out okay.
I think everyone will like this movie. All groups of people would. I don't think older parents would like it because they don't want their kids to try it out. But it would always make everyone laugh and maybe even bring back old memories. This is a rated R movie. I would give it *** stars.

She loves all the people she works with, day and night.

the music review on Jason Aldean new album called night train is a really good choice of songs but it was really risky to but all the songs he did on it. This album being only his fifth on he has ever made his tracks ranged from a hip hoppy tribute to a 90s country artist  joe diffie that will make you chant joe, joe.
Jason Aldine Williams (born February 28, 1977, in Macon, Georgia) is an American country music singer, known professionally asJason Aldean. Since 2005, Aldean has recorded for Broken Bow Records, an independent record label for which he has released five albums and sixteen singles. His 2010 album My Kinda Party is certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of  america(RIAA), while his 2005 self-titled debut, 2007 album Relentless and 2009 album Wide Open are all certified platinum. Of his singles, eight have reached the number one position on the Hot Country Songs charts: "Why", "She's Country", "Big Green Tractor", "The Truth", "Don't You Wanna Stay" (a duet with Kelly Clarkson), "Dirt Road Anthem", "Fly Over States", and "Take a Little Ride". Seven more have reached top ten on the same chart.
one quote form the song night train that is on his new cd night train is,”Bout a mile off Old Mill Rd That spot nobody knows Park the truck and we take off running Hurry up girl I hear it coming Got a moon and a million stars The sound of steel and old box cars The thought of you driving me insane Come on baby let's go listen to the night train Yeah I hope it's gonna be a long one If we're lucky it's moving slow Wouldn't mind if it lasted all night Right next to you on that hill side”
One quote from jason about his new album night train is‘’There are some surprises on there that might raise a few eyebrows, and there's also some more traditional stuff too. I don't like being put in a box, and I think with every record, we've had a lot of variety." "I got to do a cool uptempo song with Luke (Bryan) and Eric (Church), who've both been out with me over the last two years. I love collaborations like that, and I think the fans dig it when artists get together. It keeps it interesting".
i would rate this cd as a 9. this cd has a lot of great songs one it and it has a really good chance of making a one of the top selling albums. no one would be disappointed when they buy this cd because it has all his new songs on it and also some of his better songs that you might not have heard yet.

Obama To Pass Tax Hikes for Wealthy

Today, Obama called on the House Republicans to immediately change tax rates for middle class citizens and allow a tax hike for wealthy citizens. During this White House meeting, Obama claimed that the tax cut would give certainty to the 98% of Americans and 97% of small businesses that these people need to start the new year. Wealthy citizens are classified as families making over $250,000 a year, who should expect to see a hike in taxes. Also, Obama plans on inviting congressional leaders to the White House to discuss answers to the nation's deficit and debts.
Obama is doing a good thing for our economy. Right now, small businesses and middle class families need a break. The tax cut will help us in starting a new year and will hopefully get our economy back on track. It is also good to see that Obama is starting his new term right, trying to get our deficit and debts back under control.

RAPE: LA mentally disabled, && Sicko

http://globegazette.com/news/national/arrest-made-in-rape-of-woman-on-la-bus/article_1f47a509-ec84-5e7f-894f-8f4372acf9b8.htmlAn LA man and a 18 year old mentally disabled woman were on a bus in downtown LA on Wednesday afternoon. This man is being accused of raping this mentally disabled woman after he followed her to the back of the bus. A nearby witness tried to alert the bus driver of what was happening but there was too many noises around to hear the voice being carried. The rape was continued for about 10 minutes until the bus stopped. This 18 year old has the mental capacity of a 10 year old girl. After the rape attack she reported what happened to the driver.

I don't know really what to think about this article but apart of me wants to believe that it's true and the other part doesn't. I can see this happening because she is mentally disabled and some people feel they need to take care of their "needs" and this girl would be simple to do it to. I don't believe that he would do it on a bus in front of a lot of people. I also don't believe that the witness who was yelling nobody else on the bus heard her either, or that she was the only witness. There should've been a lot more people on the bus to witness and help especially because it was in the middle of the afternoon.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings once known as Buffalo Wild Wings and Wreck. Opened in Columbus Ohio when friends James Disbrow and Scott Lowery moved from Buffalo New York to Ohio and could not find a restaurant to satisfy their need for buffalo style wings so they opened their very own sports bar.

I went to this establishment and had a wonderful experience the atmosphere of B-dubs (as this place is most commonly referred to) is very inviting many games and activities to play as you wait, most tables have a touch screen game system you can play as you wait for you’re food I however noticed that a few of the wait staff were rude and it tends to be to loud so if you have children you might want to think about going someplace else. As soon as we sat down we had someone come over to take our orders, our food arrived within 10 minutes. I personally recommend the honey BBQ and Asian Zing boneless wings I suggest that you don’t purchase the Mango Habenero wings They are gross imagine biting into a flavorless wing covered in goop that tastes like a spicy orange. B-dubs is a great place to go if you’re in the mood to watch sports. The whole inside of the building is covered with HD televisions, where you can watch any sport you can think of.

They have a large selection of wings and entrees their wing selection consisted of Salt and Vinegar, Sweet BBQ, Teriyaki, Parmesan Garlic, Chipotle BBQ seasoning, Honey BBQ, Buffalo seasoning, Spicy Garlic, Jamming‘ Jalapeño, Asian Zing, Desert Heat seasoning, Caribbean Jerk, Thai Curry, Hot BBQ, Mango Habanero, Wild, and Blazing. They also have a large selection of Burgers, Juicy Steak Burger, Big Jack Daddy Burger, Screaming Nacho and many more This is an restaurant where no matter how many times you go you can always try something new.

We had ordered the fried pickles for appetizers which were crunchy on the outside and very juicy in the middle, they come with the choice of ether Ranch or South West Ranch. The Boneless Wings were very juicy and generously coated in one of their many sauce choices. The inside was 100% white meat chicken and steamy. However I did notice that the hotter wing styles tend to just be hot with no taste to them so basically you are paying 20$ just to burn your mouth, I personally have better things to spend my money on. The waitress we had was very nice came over many times to make sure we didn’t need refills or anything else, she didn’t get a single thing wrong with our orders no matter how exact or specific we were, to how we wanted our food prepared. So if your looking to have a fun night with you’re friends B-dubs is definitely the place to go.

Product Review: Sticky Critter

The sticky critter is used to pick up hair and allergens and other nasty materials on your living space. This product is a long white stick, with a vibrant green roller at the end. The stick extends as long as a tall mans leg. All you do is roll it on the floor or furniture, and it picks up all the dauber, wow! What an amazing phenomenon. It is a reusable product, all you do is simply wash it off, with cold, hot, or medium temperature water. Even soft, or hard water, whatever you choose to do to wash your Sticky Critter, the job will be done! Let it dry, make sure it’s fully dry and properly sticky and go again! What an experience! You should purchase this product because it is an easy, simple, flabbergasting mechanism used by my hotel, and many pet owners daily. The rolling action makes it easier than picking up the random particles on the floor or dirty, dirty furniture in one simple, slick and easy motion. Anyone with pets, or hairy husbands are highly recommended to use this device! You will be amazed by the quality and outcome. This roller is for the less fortunate or broken hearted who do not feel like taking time to pick up messes with their bare hands. This roller is used by simply placing the sticky roller at the end, (where the stick ends) and rolling on designated spot. With a simple roll, the magic begins. Roll until the desired spot, is indeed spotless. Once used, all you have to do is rinse off the end with a simple stroke, easy as that! Let the roller dry and let your little experience start all over. The bad things about the Sticky Critter are that if you roll while wet, nothing is accomplished! You simply are making a bigger mess. If you are intelligent enough though, to let the Sticky Critter dry, which takes less than 2 minutes, then you will have an experience you will remember for the rest of your lifetime. Many people say the Sticky Critter, “Changed my life forever.” -Briana Rottinghaus. “Makes things easier, swifter and an amazing quality you cannot get back!” - Jamie W.  If you do not enjoy getting on your hands and knees to clean your loved ones messes, this product is just screaming for you to buy it. Elderly people, who cannot bend over love this product, making it not just easier on your back, but on your heart. Lazy children may even develop obesity because of the simply work they have to do while using this amazing product. There is not one scrap or hair left behind when you use the Sticky Critter. Not one product compares to the high quality and gleaming review that the Sticky Critter lets you experience. Other products such as Swiffer Sweeper and lint rollers just do not do the trick compared to this amazing deal. If you are willing to have a lifting life experience I recommend the Sticky Critter. The Sticky Critter costs as little as $10.49, what a deal! You can order this product online or at your local Sticky Critter supplier!   -Mikayla Engels

Jason Aldean

Jason Aldine Williams, professionally knows as Jason Aldean, has five albums and sixteen singles out. His recent release was Night Train about one month ago. He is a country music singer who has impressed the lives of
American’s, by coming from a small town with nothing, to becoming a famous singer.
Justin Weaver sings with him, Michael Knox is his drummer, Kevin Neal is the violinist, and Lawrence Mathis plays guitar and the keyboard. This group has been around since 2005. His new album that was just released, Night Train, is so like Jason Aldean’s music. The whole album talks about what it’s like to live in a small town, what it’s like to be on the road in front of crowds singing every night, and what it’s like to live in the bigger states, as in California.
“She wears the pain, black tears, fallen down, from the eyes of an angel in a sinner’s town. She reveals, and they all cheer, then she cries black tears.” Those lyrics would be from a bigger state’s. “It sure left it’s mark on us, we sure left our mark on it. We let the world know we were here, with everything we did. We laid a lotta memories down, like tattoo’s on this town.” That song would be about small towns. “Singin, Here I go, Down this road, another town, another state, I wouldn’t have it any other way. All I want, is to sing my songs, hearing that crowd, keeps me goin, guitars rockin, wheels rollin.” That’s about his life on the road and how much he loves it his fans and doing concerts, he would never want to change that.
After I listened to his new album and his other albums, it really makes me and others think about how great small towns really are and what we should do to enjoy them and make the best of them instead of wanting to leave and go to a bigger city right away when that’s not always the best choice to do. If I could compare any other artist to Jason Aldean, I would have to say Luke Bryan is most like him, from the songs he sings about, to the small town guy he was back in his younger days.
Ratings on Jason Aldean have all been 10 out of 10. They say he has a lot of energy on stage, he sings very well, his opening acts are amazing, and the don’t have to wait too long in between the opening act to the time that he comes out, or the different artists that are singing at the concert. I think fans will be happy because he is still good with his ratings, and criticism is not high for him.
Jason Aldean is a great Dad, good song writer and musician and I hope that he will continue this career, have more concerts and more albums soon that will be very popular. I hope his career doesn’t die down anytime soon.

UNI Website Review

The design of UNI’s website is very neat and organized. The website is also pleasing to the eye and nice to look at, very colorful. The links are all on the side or on the top, so it is very easily navigated and used for educational purposes with a hint of fun. People can use the website for educational purposes, such as academics, admission, and financial aid. Also for supporting the school by sponsoring or donating to education funds, for safety and health, the library, registrar, athletics, outreach and partnerships, computer services, arts, events, and exhibits, and about the University of Northern Iowa. There is also a link for the parents of current students’ parents, where moms and dads can access their child’s bill, events and calendars of what is happening at the school, the parent E-newsletter, and how to stay connected to the University of Iowa.
The focus of the website is the center slideshow. The slideshow includes pictures of UNI’s students during homecoming and the panther at a football game. The pictures are all of some of the events that are going on at the school currently or have happened recently. The slideshow is at the direct center of the page and is very noticeable.
The content of the website includes information about the school and it’s history, academics, admissions, cultural events, and a lot more information on attending the University of Northern Iowa. There are also events, news, and schedules for sports.
I find the writing style of the University of Iowa’s website very relatable and informative. It is straight to the point and does not include a lot of non-sense that people do not need to read. The words are professional and easy to read.
The grammar and punctuation of the sentences that are included in the website is nearly flawless. I found very little mistakes with the website’s grammar.
The site puts out it’s message very clearly. The message is very proud, UNI has a lot of school pride and uses it’s school colors to create the website’s image. There are plenty of links for current students to access all the information the students need for their classes and other events that are taking place at the school currently. There are also a lot of links for prospective students to look at what the school is all about and what it offers for majors and minors. There are places for academics, where you can apply for admission and pay your acceptance fee, and also there are places to apply for financial aid and outreach programs. There are also a lot of main focus on events that anyone can attend at the school such as football, basketball, and many other sporting events.
The intended audience for UNI’s website is for the students. Either current or prospective. The students are not the only intended audience, however. The website can also be directed toward sponsors of the school, or prospective sponsors, sports fans, exercise conscious people, news interested people, or just people interested in the University of Northern Iowa.

Film Review

“Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers”

I’ve just finished watching “Halloween 4,” and I would have to say that it’s a pretty good movie. The movie is the 4th movie in the series, based on the original “Halloween” a story of a man who becomes evil and tries to kill all of his family.

In “Halloween 4” it starts off with a psych ward transporting a patient, “Michael Myers” who is thought to be tranquillized but wakes and goes on a killing spree trying to find his niece “Jamie”, his last living relative and kill her, and will stop at nothing to do this. During the movie there are many times where he is hit or shot or stabbed but doesn’t die. The reason he cannot die is because he is complete and total evil filled with hatred and pain.

There are four main actors, and actresses. Donald Pleasence “Dr. Loomis”, Ellie Cornell “Rachel”, Danielle Harris “Jamie”, and George P. Wilbur as “Michael Myers.” Donald Pleasence did a great job playing his character who was at one time “Michael’s” doctor, and has been chasing after him ever since he escaped. Ellie Cornell did an okay job, her role was to stay with “Jamie” and protect her, and she had a great set of lungs for lots of screams. Danielle Harris who was much younger at the time of the movie did an exceptional job for the kind of movie it is and taking her role serious in this horror film. George P. Wilbur who plays “Michael” even though he was basically just a shape in the movie and didn’t talk at all, did good in his character.

I like how the movie is very suspenseful and leads up to a big scare. Like in the movie it shows “Michael” watching the person he is about to murder and then he finds and murders them when they are least expecting it. I didn’t like that while people were ten feet away shooting at “Michael” they couldn’t hit him, which is very unrealistic. Like when “Michael” breaks through the door and the officer shoots at him six times and misses every time.

There were not many lessons to be learned in this movie, it was mostly done for entertainment and a few good scares. If there was a moral to be learned it would be that  you should never turn evil and try to kill your family.

Mostly horror movie nuts would watch this movie, and teens looking for a good scare would watch this film too. I would recommend this movie to teens and adults. “Halloween 4” is rated R for graphic content and blood and gore. I like this film and have followed all of the other films in the series, it is a good movie.

I give this movie a “4 out of 5.”

Homecoming 2012 Decorating

Here is what students in the 21st Century Writing class said about today's Homecoming decorating:

Ethan Lines said, "I have NIACC classes in the mornings, so I wasn't able to participate, but if I would have been here, I would have participated fully.  Everything looked very nice."

The seniors were in charge of the chalk and tree lighting on the west side of the school, near the secondary entrance.  Their theme was "Wrestle the Wildcats" and their characters were Looney Toons.  Nic Freeman created chalk drawings of Wile E. Coyote, Tweety Bird, and Sylvester.

"The senior's float was a picture of Tweety Bird. We worked on it today and got a lot of it done; it turned out really nice."--Sabrina Dow

"I have NIACC classes in the mornings, but I noticed the decorated windows uptown on my way to school.  I especially liked the Mario one."--Dalton Stevens

According to Mikayla Engels, "I helped with the floats and at first, Sabrina, Briana, and I couldn't find the boards.  We looked everywhere for them and when we found them, we couldn't carry them.  Some more girls came and we started painting (although some of us were lazy and didn't really put much effort into it).  After a while, when people from other groups came and helped, it was really fun how we all laughed and joked about random things.  Sabrina did an amazing job drawing."

Even the middle school students got in on the action.  Check out some pictures from all the activities this morning!

Mrs. Lien to retire as year comes to a close.

By: Jocelyn Arends

As the school year comes to an end, some students are beginning to say goodbye until next fall, while others are saying goodbye for good do to graduation. But a few teachers are also saying goodbye to RRMR do to better opportunities elsewhere and retirement. One of RRMR's seasoned veterans is saying goodbye to teaching here at RRMR. Mrs. Lien, who has been teaching here since the 1977-78 school year, announced her retirement earlier this year. And as the school year comes to a close, I decided to ask her a few questions on her experience here at RRMR for the last 30 plus years. Mrs. Lien says that her favorites classes to teach were Earth Science, as well as Biology due to the dissection projects and also Chemistry. Her worst memory while teaching here at RRMR would have to be the school fire in the early 1990's. Mrs Lien said that it was like she lost 15 years worth of memories and curriculum. The best memory through out her years of teaching is just experiencing the graduations every year and seeing the students walk across the stage and getting their diplomas. Through out the many years of teaching, there have been many changes. The biggest change education wise in Mrs. Lien's mind is the technology, but she also believes that trying out the block scheduling was a different experience too. Mrs. Lien's plans for retirement include gardening, reading, and going on camping trips with her husband. She will miss working with students and seeing the accomplishments in the students faces when they finally understand what they have been trying to learn in class. Mrs. Lien's advice to students and faculty going forward is to "Stick with it, set your goals, get to the end of those goals and don't procrastinate!" She went on to say that it's better to have a dream to accomplish because you tend to stagnate through life when you do not have a dream or a goal to look forward to. Everyone here at RRMR will miss Mrs. Lien and we thank her for all the years and effort she has put in to teaching. We wish Mrs. Lien nothing but the best in her retirement.

RRMR Band Instructor: Ms. Hageman

I had the chance to interview the RRMR band instructor. Melissa Hageman is leaving the RRMR band because she is now engaged to her fiance Dustin, they purchased a house together in Oelwein. So she decided to find a job that is closer to her home. She really loves the students at RRMR, and its going to be really hard to say goodbye to them. Next year she will be at West Central in Maynard. They are a Iowa school like Rockford, but overall they are a little smaller. Ms. Hageman says that RRMR has been a great district to have been a part of. The band students have worked so hard and accomplished so much for the two years she has had at RRMR. She will definitely miss the students the most!!! She says that she doesnt think she`s ever worked with such thoughtful, considerate, and caring students before.

The RRMR students would like to thank Ms. Hageman for all she has done to help achieve our goals. And the best of luck to you with your marriage and your new school location.

2012 After Prom Prizes

The Rockford after prom was hosted at the Rose bowl in Mason City, Iowa. you had the chance to play games and bowl in order to get little slips of paper that you could write your name on and put it in a folder that is in front of the prize you would like to have. You were able to put as many in the folders as you wished. The prizes consisted of gift cards to all of the stores in our area. They had prizes for everyone who attended. The senior prizes were only granted to the seniors. For the senior prizes they got to pick from mini fridges, tvs, gps, kindle, camera, $100 cash, gas cards, and gift cards to restaurants that you would pick. Allyson Brannon

April 12, 2012 was a sad day for everyone in the Rudd Rockford Marble Rock community school district, when we lost one of our own. Allyson Brannon was an 8th grader who was diagnosed with Klippel-Trenauay Syndrome at a very young age, and was never ashamed of the way she looked or cared what anyone thought. She was a loving caring child who loved to go bowling with her family and friends. Allyson was so excited to attend her first dance on Friday April 13th, the day after she past away. Allyson's funeral was Tuesday April 17, 2012 10:30 A.M. Around 40 students and 9 teachers attended Allyson's funeral to support the family and show their love for Allyson.
Forever loved and Forever missed Allyson Haley Brannon.

Child Development- Kindergarten

Yesterday my child development class and I went down to spend time with the kindergarteners, I was really interested, and impressed with how much they've learned and how smart they are! The teacher told us to walk about and watch as they did there rotations, and the activities they were doing in those group's. I sat and watched as they did there reading with the teacher picking which picture's fit each word, or what you'd use something for. Example: What are sunglasses used for? To keep the sun out of your eye's. Also in other group's when they would put a certain word in a sentence, and read it back to themselves. Also when they got on the computer's to read a book and had to click on each word so it could read how the word should sound back to them. Overall it was a great experience, and to relive the day's I had been in kindergarten, and how much it has changed from back when I went there. I enjoyed watching as the kid's did there activities excitedly loving the chance to learn!
