Here is what students in the 21st Century Writing class said about today's Homecoming decorating:
Ethan Lines said, "I have NIACC classes in the mornings, so I wasn't able to participate, but if I would have been here, I would have participated fully. Everything looked very nice."
The seniors were in charge of the chalk and tree lighting on the west side of the school, near the secondary entrance. Their theme was "Wrestle the Wildcats" and their characters were Looney Toons. Nic Freeman created chalk drawings of Wile E. Coyote, Tweety Bird, and Sylvester.
"The senior's float was a picture of Tweety Bird. We worked on it today and got a lot of it done; it turned out really nice."--Sabrina Dow
"I have NIACC classes in the mornings, but I noticed the decorated windows uptown on my way to school. I especially liked the Mario one."--Dalton Stevens
According to Mikayla Engels, "I helped with the floats and at first, Sabrina, Briana, and I couldn't find the boards. We looked everywhere for them and when we found them, we couldn't carry them. Some more girls came and we started painting (although some of us were lazy and didn't really put much effort into it). After a while, when people from other groups came and helped, it was really fun how we all laughed and joked about random things. Sabrina did an amazing job drawing."
Even the middle school students got in on the action. Check out some pictures from all the activities this morning!

Kelly Hain
My name is Kelly Hain. I'm 16 years old and a Junior. I play volleyball, basketball, golf, and softball. After high school, I plan to be some type of therapist or a photographer. I look forward to writing senior spotlights and covering the sports.
My name is Ethan Lowell Lines, I'm 17, and I am a senior this year. I enjoy playing football, running track, and playing golf. Some of my favorite things to do outside of school is build model cars and go swimming. My future plans are to finish my automotive tech classes at NIACC, transfer to Iowa State University to achieve my degree in mechanical engineering, and to finish my term of service in the Iowa Army National Guard. I like writing about sports, and other events such as, car shows, truck and tractor pulls, and writing my senior spotlight.
Mikayla Engels
My name is Mikayla Engels. I am a senior this year :) I am very excited to be a Senior this year so I can go off to college and be a psychologist. After I go to college and become a psychologist I am going to move to Wyoming with my best friend Briana Rottinghaus and she is going to have a hippie store while I cure the crazy :) I am going to live in a little house with a hammock outside and a little pond with turtles and my dog Maggie is going to live with us, even though Briana hates her, she'll have to deal with it. :) I like to do all different random things all the time so I don't have any set hobbies, my life is just all over the place.
My name is Sabrina Dow, I am 17 and a senior at RRMR high school. I am involved in Football Cheerleading and I plan to graduate in May of 2013. After high school I hope to go to the University of Minnesota and major in Geoscience and start a career in Landscape design or Laboratory Geology. This year I am going to be covering the 2012 Presidential Election and some of the Senior Spotlights. I also hope to be writing about some popular science news and astronomy.
